A Boring Grass Backyard Transforms Into a Tranquil Gathering Place.
This home in the Prescott Ranch community of Belgrade, Montana was well-built. But the view to the backyard was bland. With house-to-fence grass and just 2 trees to soften the sight of the surrounding neighbors’ roofs, this homeowner needed an oasis to unwind after a hard day and to be the party spot on the weekends. We created a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L rock patio extension with hardscape borders to allow year-after-year blooms. TrueGrid PRO LITE Pavers were installed as the backbone to ensure the loose rock stays in place, despite frequent storms that would otherwise flood and shift the patio.

see how we did it.
Before. A blank slate.

We removed the grass with a sod cutter.
The dirt is evened out and steel edging put in to create a 15x16 foot patio area.

Laying landscape fabric.
The first TrueGrid PRO LITE pavers snap in.
20 minutes later, the entire 15x16 foot patio space is lined with TrueGrid pavers, and the rock material brought in. We chose decomposed granite for a smooth and earthy look.
The hardscape is complete!
Ready to party!
