In the business of design, the first thing your clients see must match the quality of the service you provide. That’s why Sanctuary Design in downtown Bozeman chose TrueGrid permeable pavers and locally-sourced, natural gravel to complement their office building.
A patio worthy of Bozeman’s top design firm
“We’ve done thousands of commercial and residential landscape projects over 25 years in this valley. TrueGrid is a game-changer.”
- Geoff Hoell, Owner, Native Roots Project Management
Challenge
Sustainability and beauty don’t always go together. The owner of Sanctuary Design needed to consider both when giving their office building and surrounding landscape a significant facelift. She wanted the patio along the street to be a comfortable and relaxing space for staff and clients to enjoy on a nice day. Concrete would be expensive and harsh on the eyes, and she loved the European style of using natural materials like pea gravel. But keeping loose gravel in place would be a maintenance challenge.
Solution
Landscape design firm, Native Roots, reached out to Montana Hardscape Hub for a solution to support their client’s goals and deliver on their impecable quality standard. While they hadn’t installed TrueGrid permeable pavers before, the eco-friendly 100% recycled plastic products to hold locally sourced Gallatin gravel in place fit the bill - practically and within budget.
Result
The 400 square foot patio installation was smooth sailing. The ground was excavated, 4 inches of base gravel material installed and compacted for stability, and geo-synthetic fabric was laid. The TrueGrid layer was a breeze, even when cutting the material to fit around utility boxes, posts, and pipes. It snapped right into place. Top fill gravel was added and compacted with a rake and hose. Voila! A locally-sourced, sustainable, and beautiful patio fitting a leading design firm.
